Class Descriptions - Intrductory to Advanced
The rate at which adcancement occurs through the levels of practice is different for each individual.
Intro Level I - Introduction to Yoga
Beginning Students start here to learn fundamental yoga postures, alignment principles and other yoga basics. Approximately 15 postures are introduced in this essential 4-week yoga primer for absolute beginners. Learn relaxation skills to relieve mental tension, aid concentration and find a sense of well-being. This course forms the foundation for continuing practice in a Level I - II class.
Intermediate- Levels I & II
The Level I & II classes build on the Intro Level I series by adding more postures to the repertoire and offers a deeper yoga experience. Approximately 25 postures form the Level I and II syllabus. Through refinement of practice in these foundational postures, students learn how to practice yoga correctly and safely. They develop the strength, stamina, flexibility and body awareness required to proceed to the advanced levels. Level II classes introduce Shoulderstand and arm balances.
Advanced- Level III & IV
Students must develop a solid 3-5 minute Shoulderstand prior to moving on to Level 3-4 Practice. Inversions are emphasized in these classes along with sensitive inquiry into the postures.
All Levels
All Levels Classes are suitable for students at all levels of practice. They are accessible for beginning students, but also present challenge and opportunity for growth in advanced level students. All Levels classes are typically therapeutic in nature with a greater focus oriented toward solving physiological concerns including joint stability, lower back problems and emphasize shoulder and hip mobility.
